Plan B
There's a Time in Everyone's Life When Tomorrow Becomes Real

Many criminals and chemically dependent individuals are limited to identifying only external values and goals. This active force is consistent with the external locus of control most addictions instill to their victims. What this means is that these individuals view themselves as having very little power in the world and believe they are the victims of external forces beyond their control, most of the time. This holds partial truth because a lot of the needed changes, in order to become a functioning member of any given society, are internal changes and the sole responsibility of the individual.

In my previous incarceration I realized there was nothing creative that came out of being in solitary confinements, receiving just enough from corrections to survive. It was an unnatural feeling that degraded my quality of living, not just externally but morally. This made me lose a lot of self-respect, which brought moments of reflection and were pivotal to my transition of regaining control.

-from the twelfth chapter: "Control"

Nadin Garcia align= Nadin Garcia was born and raised Yonkers, New York, and had a very difficult childhood. Drugs and incarceration became his life, and it seemed that they would become his future, too. However, Nadin learned from his tribulations and gained the strength to adopt a new mindset. With this new mindset and a lot of hard work, Nadin is proud to say that he has left his old life behind. Today he devotes himself to providing advice and motivation to others trapped in the cycle of self-destruction. Nadin feels that helping others to change their lives is a gift and a privilege.
