Shenandoah National Park Simply Beautiful

"A Pipevine swallowtail searches for nectar on a milkweed blossom. The adults have an interesting survival strategy: the females lay eggs only on plants from the poisonous Pipevine family, such as Dutchman's pipe and Virginia snakeroot. The caterpillars eat the plants without being harmed, and the chemicals make them poisonous to most predators."
-page 92

"Hikers at Little Stony Man Overlook can see Skyline Drive winding through the Blue Ridge Mountains. The entire park straddles the Blue Ridge, the easternmost flank of the Appalachian Mountains between Pennsylvania and Georgia."
