This collection of inspiring photographs captures the park's human history, pictographs made by ancient tribes, paths of early explorers, relics of old mining settlements, and its natural history, which inspired the establishment of the park in 1919, and earned it the title of one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

"Prehistoric pictographs are hidden inside a small cave in Chamberlain Canyon. Difficult to accurately date, these images are estimated to be more than one thousand years old. Their exact meaning is unknown, but some experts speculate they were part of religious or hunting ceremonies."

"Redwall Cavern is a favorite stopping for rafters on the Colorado River. This limestone amphitheater is yet another feature named by Major John Wesley Powell, who described it as a "vast half-circular chamber." Powell estimated that it could hold fifty-thousand people. not nearly that large, it does dwarf rafters standing at the opening. The only way to reach Redwall Cavern is by boat."
