Dave Peterson has been photographing Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons since 1983. He bought his first professional film camera in 1988 and has never looked back. Occasionally, though, he will look down, hand-holding his heavy Pentax 6x7 while focusing on Yellowstone from a small Cessna aircraft. No drones were used. Neither was AI. In fact, a large portion of the images in this book (28 percent to be exact) are from film. It wasn't until well into the new millennium that he bought his first digital camera, which is also about the same time he started traveling overseas to photograph scenes in places like China, Borneo, and New Zealand. Somewhere along the way (Thailand, to be exact), he met his chief wildlife spotter, and eventual wife, Rosesukhon Onyon, (Rosie), pictured at left taking her usual position in the Cessna's backseat. |
