As a child and young adult, Carrie Havranek spent time in Lancaster County, Philadelphia, and up and down the river towns along the Delaware River, so it was no surprise when her journalism career started with an internship at Rodale, in Emmaus. She will go out of her way for fresh, local food. Her writing has appeared in Edible Philly, the Kitchn, and Lucky Peach among other places. She works as an associate editor at Simply Recipes, where she develops, edits, and writes recipes. Carrie lives in Easton, Pennsylvania, with her twin boys and two cats.
